The small islands of Tubigon are located within the Danajon Bank, one of only six double barrier reefs in the world. The islanders have always enjoyed the abundance and diversity of marine life — from colorful fishes, to corals of many shapes and sizes. Fishing is not only their source of livelihood, but a central part of their culture as well. The women glean seashells during low tide, while the men go farther out into the sea to catch fishes and crabs. The youth stay interested in fishing, proud of their culture and the rare beauty of their reefs.
