In 2024, Racing the King Tide launched a Photovoice project with youth leaders from these small islands. The initiative aimed to enable them to use the power of photography, filmmaking and storytelling in sharing their own lived experiences of climate change using their own voice, highlighting often-overlooked themes such as human mobility, cultural identity, and local knowledge.

Too often, small islands are portrayed as passive victims of climate change. This project aims to shift that narrative – empowering youth to reclaim their voice, share their lived experiences, and raise global awareness of both the urgent risks of sea level rise and the resilience of communities fighting back.

Little bit of information about the Photography and Film workshops. Visiting the Islands in 2024 and teaching the Youth Advocates in Pangapasan and Batasan. Then a little bit of information about the camera technology (Samsung A54, manfrotto mobile journalism kit and the solar power banks. Can also add in a little bit about the composition techniques.
